WHAT GLASSES ARE YOU WEARING?

by Dr. Kirsten van Heerden - 23 October 2017

What we believe, pay attention to and expect, shape our world and experiences. And this applies to running too. If you believe you are actually not so good at running, chances are no matter how hard you train you will eventually only focus on the moments of struggle, leading you to eventually confirm to yourself that you are a bad runner. The good news is that beliefs are just that: a belief – not fact. Bel

SHE HAS WHAT IT TAKES

by Michelle Carnegie - 17 October 2017

When one of the most hard-core and successful coaches in the country decides to take you on as one of his athletes, you must know that you potentially have what it takes, but you also quickly realise training - as you know it - will never be the same again.

For Gauteng based advocate Ann Ashworth life and training have definitely changed since John Hamlett, better known as the Coach of Coache

WHO IS THE BETTER ATHLETE?

by Craig Fry - 10 October 2017

At every race there are those that are competing for line honours and then there is the rest of us who make up the numbers on race day. But who is the better athlete? Is it the Average Joe athlete - that I am – or the elite athletes that I see so often as part of my job? I have to blame radio personality and sports nut Brad Brown for this debate raging in my head so often as it was Brad who asked me the que

IS CORPORATE SA MISSING THE ATHLETICS BUS?

by Craig Fry - 02 October 2017

Athletics as a whole has improved tremendously in South Africa, with especially Track & Field athletes showing great results with Olympic medals and World Records, to name but a few accomplishment in the last couple of months. Recently the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon became the first road race in Africa to achieve IAAF Gold Label Status. But it seems when it comes to sponsorships, Athletics is still the stepsis
