South African elite marathoner Irvette van Zyl is hoping to finish in the top three women at this year’s highly competitive Sanlam Cape Town Marathon (SCTM), one of only a few marathons in the world to achieve IAAF gold label status.
Van Zyl will be amongst some of the world’s best lining up on Sunday morning in Cape Town, where the stage has been set for some spectacular running.
The day he had to bail out of a corporate race due to a serious health scare was a turning point in the life of Tapiwanashe Zhou. Not only did he feel embarrassed in front of his colleagues and company MD, but he realised in what bad shape he was, having run only 1km before experiencing serious health problems.
